HURRICANE SHELTER CO-FINANCED BY THE EUROPEAN UNION UNDER THE FEDER FOR A GRANT OF 696484.57 Euros.
The completed project is a hurricane shelter with a capacity of 150 people that will be used as a meeting room outside of hurricane periods.Surface 4898 square feet, in compliance with the standards in place for earthquakes and hurricanes.The shelter is equipped with women’s, mixed and accessible toilets connected to potable water cisterns with a main generator and an emergency generator. The shelter features a cinema screen to offer a scenography and projections that positively highlight the resilience of the territory of Saint Martin to natural hazards.
